The main responsibility of the clinician is the patient, whereas that of the forensic psychiatrist is society. As forensic psychiatrists should adhere to the principle of honesty and strive for objectivity, forensic psychiatric examinations proceed in an ethical space different from clinical medicine. Therefore, in case reports of forensic psychiatry, receiving consent from the subject is only the first step, and decision-making is required for resolution of the conflict between the desire for truth disclosure and the protection of stakeholders, including the subject.
