Medication and/or psychosocial treatment, such as psycho-educational therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy, are generally used to treat schizophrenia. In our case, the patient's auditory hallucinations and delusions were unable to be treated by medication. Therefore, Psychotherapy based the systems approach was used. As a result, the patient's symptoms and family relationships were improved, and they were reintegrated into society. System approach emphasizes relationships rather than symptoms and problems. This case is significant because no similar case report was found in which the systems approach was used to improve the symptoms of schizophrenia. We demonstrated that the systems approach is useful for psychiatric treatment as the relationship between the doctor and the patient can be objectively assessed when the treatment stalls. Additionally, the systems approach allows the doctor to review and adjust the treatment plan.
