Various types of mood, anxiety, and psychotic disorder are seen in the perinatal period.
Recently, evidence regarding risk factors and the onset time of such psychiatric disorders has been reported. Local care service systems that can predict or detect high-risk women early are desirable. Furthermore, a specialist multidisciplinary perinatal mental health service should be established in each locality, providing regular services, consultation, and advice to promote maternity, other mental health, and community services.
