Pharmacists are responsible for assuring the efficacy and safety of pharmacological treatment for patients, especially for the prevention of side effects and harmful effects of medications, and actively participate in pharmacological treatment. Pharmacists understand the characteristics of drugs, advise on prescriptions from a pharmacological perspective, and provide information to other professions. Furthermore, pharmacists can aid in the early detection of adverse events and promote adherence in collaboration with physicians/psychiatrists. This author believes that by providing feedback on information useful to patients to the physicians, which again benefits the patients, psychiatric pharmacists can contribute to psychiatric care.
