Licensed Psychologists are now officially recognized, and collaboration is expected between psychiatry and psychology. In this paper, I discuss the current status of psychology and the future directions of collaborations between psychiatry and psychology in the area of industry. The activities of Licensed Psychologists in psychology within the area of industry have been outlined upon systematization of the license. Regarding psychological support in the area of industry, although a wide range of subjects are targeted, there are few psychiatrists and Licensed Psychologists designated to serve this population, and career- and mental health-related aspects should be addressed in their services. Furthermore, in reference to the current collaboration between psychiatry and psychology, I describe how these two specialties segregate themselves from each other, with the former mainly attending to physical problems (i. e., biological factors) and the latter to psychological problems (i. e., psychosocial factors), collaborating with other specialties. In the future, mental health-related systems are expected to be substantiated so that it can play a central role in collaborations.
