The concept, diagnosis and clinical picture of childhood-onset schizophrenia were presented. The cases with childhood-onset schizophrenia were classified into 4 groups according to their process of growth and development. Furthermore, it has been suggested that the progression of childhood-onset schizophrenia developed on the basis of neurodevelopmenal hypothesis might contribute to the understanding of adult onset schizophrenia and early diagnosis and intervention of schizophrenia.
